Have you ever experienced any “off days”? Those days when you feel pretty bored with almost everything even though you have so much to do? On such days, I feel like I have hit my saturation point and I need a break from whatever it is I’m doing at that point in time.

For some people, the boredom goes beyond a few days and its like they find their lives pretty boring. They realise that their lives have been one long boring, monotonous routine all along and they are just about done with it. Is this your story?

Do you feel like you have lost your motivation, creativity and even zest for life? Are you just going with the motions and not intentional about your day or getting out of bed at all? This kind of feeling can be really depressing, right? Nothing seems to interest you and you yearn for a change.

How about we examine these few tips that can help you get your mojo back:

Are you happy at your current place of work? Do you feel like you have grown to your highest level and there’s nothing new for you to learn? Your job is very important to consider because you spend most of your day there, every week day. So, if it isn’t a place you find happiness, you really should consider getting something else.

How often do you give of yourself to others? You do realise this comes with a sense of fulfilment, right? Spending time with others doing that thing you love and have great interest in, is one great way to feel motivated again. You get to work with elderly people, sick people, kids, animals, people going through challenges etc. You get to meet new people, make new friends and at the end feel good about yourself. Volunteering is a great way to kick boredom out of your life.

How about a change of environment? Go on a trip and experience a totally different way of life. Travel and visit other places. Learn new cultures. Learn new languages. Just travel and explore the world. Do this for a couple of weeks and you won’t believe the transformation you would experience.

Try something new. Break out of your comfort zone and go for opportunities that challenges you to be more than you are right now. Join clubs that interest you – writing clubs, cooking class, photography clubs, painting classes, art clubs etc. Do that thing which has always held your interest but you have always procrastinated.

Make a big move. Stop stalling. If you are no longer growing or learning where you are, move away to a place in your life where you can learn and grow. Stagnancy is one terrible zone to be trapped in, in life. Whatever it is that you do, don’t stay in one place. Keep moving forward.
