Ghosting: when a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they’re dating with zero warning or notice before hand. – Urban Dictionary

I’ve become so good at ghosting, I think I might just add to the list of my talent. I know, I know, I know, it’s such a bummer  to have someone up and disappear in a puff of digital dust. But honestly, this act of disappearing without any explanation whatsoever isn’t always a bad thing. There are situations where you just have to up and disappear; if you’ve spent a lot of time in the dating world you would know that people don’t always act right, so you have to cut them off. You ghost them and then block them off nicely.

Below are some acceptable reasons for ghosting:

When they have no respect for boundaries:

There are times when in our relationship we feel our partner is being too pushy. When you start to feel your partner is being too pushy even after stating it to them, by all means please ghost away! Some people don’t know when to stop pushing they went to control your lifestyle choices, thoughts and actions. These are the exact set of people you don’t need in your life, cut them away! cut them off permanently.

When they won’t take No for an answer

Some people are passively aggressive! They don’t take your No for it, I know that sometimes we should follow the “don’t take no for an answer”  rule but not every time. Sometimes accept the No. These set of people, I cut them off clear-and-dry, you should too.

When they are emotionally manipulative

If you are dealing with somebody who is emotionally manipulative please ghost and ghost away. No dear, don’t give it a second thought. This set of people only seek to control and cause chaos in your life, they are toxic and you don’t need them around you. Protect your peace and space.

When you feel uneasy around them

This is the most important one, if you don’t feel safe around anyone please ghost them. The moment you start to feel strengthened by someone’s presence is the moment you forget about courtesy and manners and switch up to ghost mode. If an individual appears to be psychologically imbalanced and you fear you may be in harm’s way, cutting all communication is the wisest choice to make, don’t feel guilty for that.
