Dr Melissa Freeman is the grand-daughter of a slave. She devoted her life to medicine and still continues to practise.

She became one of the first to treat women with opioid addiction. At the university, she was 1 of 4 women in her class who studied medicine of over 150 students at the time. She continues to live her life a testament to the fact that we are powerful in more ways than we could possibly imagine.
