Relationships are meant to bring out the best in us and not leave us worse than we had been. It is meant to change your life and not just your relationship status.

Falling in love is the easy part. The challenge for couples is how to rekindle the fires of romance from time to time and cultivate the mature, trusting love that is the hallmark of a lasting relationship. It takes commitment, compromise, forgiveness and most of all — effort.

You have the right to love and be loved right back. It’s sad sometimes when some women make do with what meagre portion of love is tossed to them by believing that they deserve what they get. Love is a beautiful emotion and if you choose to tone it down, what beauty is left of it? It’s not strange to find people who are alone in their relationships.

Here are few scenarios that point out if you are alone in your relationship.

You and your partner stopped talking

Personally, its a red flag for me because it creates that aura of having nothing left of the relationship. Some people are pretty serious introverts or probably show traits of being strong and silent. But if you and your partner barely ever have proper conversations, there’s a problem. If you feel like you have nobody to talk to, you may as well be alone.

Affection has gone on a road trip 

Affection is the spice of your relationship, if you both have lost it then all is certainly not well.  There’s nothing quite as comforting as physical touch, hug or even a cuddle with your partner when you’ve had a bad day. If you feel like your partner is reluctant to give you one, you might need to rethink if both of you are still in the relationship or it might be just you.

You don’t connect anymore 

Difficult phases in life and being overworked can cause a gap in your love life. However, if this is prolonged then it might prevent you and your partner from catching up over a romantic dinner and a glass of wine in the evening. This wanes the connection and chemistry between the both of you and tends to make you feel alone.

Spotting this out is a good step to take in your relationship but it should not stop there. Don’t be fast to assume the situation of things, ask questions —  to enable you to understand better, if there is a need to give more support, or listening ear — don’t take it for granted. If you find yourself in a situation where you are guilty of the state of things, ensure to make amends. Initiate communication more often too, even mind readers communicate.
