At the conference, Naomi talked about “The Growth Mindset Hack to Thrive In and Out of Season.” She talked about maneuvering the downsides and challenges of life even now made worse by the COVID-19 global Pandemic. She emphasized the numerous advantages a growth mindset has over a fixed mindset. According to her, it doesn’t matter what circumstances are not meant to limit one’s growth or success in life. Pandemic or not, a growth mindset always pave the way for more – accepting one’s reality but still having dreams and making intentional moves to make them come to pass.
Naomi shared three key points on having a growth mindset:
- Believe you are in control of your own ability and you can learn and improve.
- View setbacks as opportunities to learn. Pull out your lesson from your story and find someone to teach.
- Shut up the voices of that fixed mindset.
She also shared some personal stories that we can deeply relate to and we can learn so much from her. Click on the link Naomi Osemedua at the Flourish Africa Conference: Outsmart 2020 to get the full video.
