#IWD2019: WOMEN, THE #BALANCEFORBETTER POSE AND A WIND OF TRANSITION
The 2019 International Women’s Day may have come and gone but its traces are still visible even as the month of March still progresses celebrating women history. Globally, more women took cognizance of the day as well as men. It could be said that the theme for this year, “#BalanceForBetter” brought about both genders coming together to celebrate more women.
It is also pertinent to observe that it was a day to celebrate women who have gone down in history to tow a path for younger women. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. There is an obvious under-representation in different spheres of the economy, career and business. The future is exciting and the world seems to be ready for a gender-balanced society.
Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere.
The social media space went agog with photos of women posing with “hands out” balance pose for a strong call-to-action for others to also help forge a #BalanceforBetter and the #IWD2019.
If there was anything obvious, it was that the world is ready for a transition towards women inclusion and appreciation.
