Do you know your crowd of friends or better yet, people you surround yourself with, is a reflection of how you see yourself? No wonder that famous quote says, “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.”

More often than not, a lot of people go through life without believing they are worth anything. It’s not because they actually are not worth anything but because the crowd they associate themselves do not see their value and thus are not able to appreciate them for their worth.

Just as an eagle would never learn to fly if it’s raised with chickens, the same way a king would never know he is royalty if raised with thugs. You can’t expect to flourish or thrive at your optimum when your crowd is lavishing in mediocrity.

When your immediate circle doesn’t know your worth and true value, it causes you to doubt yourself and even the things you feel you can do. Don’t go through life believing you are worth just a cent when you are a jewel of inestimable value.

Do not settle for less when you are worth so much more. I like to say your identity is your character on display to the world. Be sure to be displayed in a store where precious gems are exposed rather than the regular market place where the precious stones can be worth the same as any other stone.

Seeing yourself through the eyes of your friends can go a long way in helping you understand who you really are. In the same way, also develop the ability to see the worth of others and be sure to let them know.

Hence, it is very important to choose your crowd wisely because this decision can make all the difference in your life.

Joyce Rachelle said, “Always make an effort to be around people who will help you grow.”
