The film Hidden figures is said to be adapted into a TV series by the Na Geo. The movie was based on the book “Hidden Figures” written by Margot Lee Shetterly. The movie tells the story of phenomenal black women who helped America get into space.

It is the exceptional story of ordinary women doing extraordinary things and whose contribution was highly  instrumental to the rise of the US Space Program.

The movies starred Taraji P Henson as Katherine Johnson, a black female mathematician who  worked at the  National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She calculated the flight trajectory  for Project Mercury and other missions.

The film features Janelle Monàe as Mary Jackson a mathematician and  NASA engieer , she was the first black woman to attend a class filled with white people in  Hampton, Virginia.

Octavia Spencer starred as Dorothy Vaughan she worked as the acting supervisor at NACA and NASA, she wasn’t promoted till the 28th year of her career. Vaughan prepared herself for the introduction of machine computers in the early 1960s by teaching herself and her staff the programming language of FORTRAN.

Hidden Figures the movie was nominated for 3 oscars, it is inspirational and educational. I’m excited to hear about the series which is reportedly in development.
