DO YOU KNOW YOUR GENES CONTINUE TO LIVE AFTER YOU DIE?
The religious believe that there’s life after death has been backed by science. Cells in the human body continue to function for a period after death, However, a new research has found that:
Some genes become more active when an individual shuffles off this mortal coil.
Scientists hope that this new research will help forensic scientists accurately pinpoint the time of a person’s death in case of murder, homicide or accident.
Their research which was carried out on 36 different types of tissues from 540 corpses brought about conclusion that the RNA continues to transcribe the DNA’s instructions even after the moment of death.
The activities of the human genes which are defined by the DNA and RNA, the DNA is a set of instruction while the RNA reads the instruction and translates them into action and bodily function.
The lead researcher, Roderic Gugo told BBC that
“There is a reaction by each cell to the death of the individual. We see some pathways, some genes, that are activated and this is still some activity at the level of transcription”
The scientists believe that understanding the changes in the RNA transcription will be useful for forensic scientists. A software has been developed to analyze gene patterns to accurately predict a person’s time of death.
This is such a huge break in science, and we thought you should be the first to know!
