5 THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR THIS WEEK
Opportunities disguised as challenges
Ever since realising that with each challenge comes an opportunity to learn either from my mistakes or profer a solution that will turn things around, I have learnt to view challenges as what they are, ‘stepping stones’. In video and mobile games, there are levels, each level comes with it a higher level of difficulty before you can successfully cross over to the new level which puts you ahead. I like to think that life is wired in a similar manner. This week, embrace the challenges that come your way and become a problem solver or a sponge learning from the mistakes that brought them about in the first place and offering solutions that will take you a step higher in your journey.
Moments of silence
I love driving to work with the windows up, no music playing or news on the radio, just quiet. In this moment, I get to reflect, make mental notes in my head and pray. Sometimes, I pray in the spirit to just my own hearing; other times, I’m singing along to the tune of my own worship band. Watch out for those alone times… no kids, no husband, no siblings, no colleagues, no bosses. Just you and your quiet. These times will prove invaluable especially because we live in a time where we’re surrounded by activity and noise.
Negative vibes and energy
Energy is underrated. It is in the unsaid things, it is in the body language, the side glances that might have gone unnoticed but your spirit just won’t let you shake off. It is important that you’re surrounded by people who are truly for you. The mind is a powerful thing and if those around you don’t want you to progress or be a success, that could actually affect how far you get in life. Ward off the negative energy and start living positively.
The chance to step out of your comfort zone with boldness
It’s in the trip that no one else wants to make at work, it’s in the difficult clients that no one else wants to take, it’s in the meetings with the intimidating bosses that everyone else is afraid to speak up at. Speak up, walk with your head held high. Remember whose you are, you were never created to take up space so stop cowering.
It is time to own your own.
