GET YOUR SASS ON

For some, the confidence strut comes easy, for some it doesn’t. Sadly, it’s almost impossible to get to the peak of our career if we lack self-confidence. Most people believe that self-confidence can be built through affirmations and positive thinking. However, there’s  no five-minute fix to getting self-confidence. You have to be intentional about it and lay out goals in achieving it. Here are some goals to consider in getting the confidence strut you’ve always admired in others:

  1. Track Little Victories

Create an Excel spreadsheet give it the title “Achievement log”. Make it a duty to always fill it in with things you have achieved daily. Perhaps you met your target at work, you made someone’s life better, you hit a milestone. Go through this list daily and just enjoy your success.

    2.   Think the where, when and how

Think about  where you want to go in life, when you want to get there and how you want to go about getting there. Setting and achieving goals  are major keys  to getting self-confidence.  Set goals that exploit your strengths, minimize your weaknesses, realize your opportunities, and control the threats you face.

    3.  Manage your mind

Just as there are measures to keep your body fit, there are measures to keep your mind healthy. More importantly you need to develop emotional intelligence, read our article on emotional intelligence here.

    4. Go on knowledge hunt

Knowledge, success and self-confidence goes hand-in- hand. Look at your goals and identify the skills you need to achieve them.  Then go on a pursuit on how to acquire these skills. Take on programs or short courses that gives  you a certificate or qualification you can be proud of.

    5. Focus on the basis

Don’t start with a mindset to be perfect. That will only make you feel inadequate, enjoy the process . Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Self confidence is as important as your outfit, hair and makeup. You must not go out without it and the above goals are probably the most important guidelines you need to boost your confidence. Work it and get your sass on!
