3 AFFIRMATIONS INSPIRED BY THE FLOURISH AFRICA CONFERENCE TO GET YOU THROUGH THE WEEK
The weekend had us all brimming over with excitement and our cup full from gems that were being dropped from some of the female powerhouses in Nigeria. Amongst the speakers were: Founder, Mrs Folorunso Alakija, Chioma Afe, TY Bello, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Gogo Majin to name a few.
One of these gems included the importance of the mind. Affirmations, we learnt were valuable for going through your day with a positive attitude and also placing yourself in the right mind-frame for receiving blessings. We’ve listed a few that we hope we carry you through the week.
- “I Will Flourish”
Flourish according to the online dictionary means to: grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly congenial environment. This is therefore a two-tiered affirmation. It not only denotes growth and development, it also denotes that you will be placed in an environment that allows for that growth to be manifested. The right friends, right family support system, destiny helpers… the whole 9 yards.
2. “I Am A Game Changer”
A game changer is a newly introduced element or factor that changes an existing situation or activity in a significant way. The game changer sees things that others don’t. Where problems arise, the game changer sees an opportunity to create solutions that will put me above his or her peers. Does that describe you? Is that who you’d like to become? Well, then say it like you mean it. It might not have worked out for anyone else but it will work for you because you’re on this earth to create your own narrative and not follow in a story line written by someone else.
3. “I Am Walking Through Open Doors.”
Revelation 3:8 I will open a door which no man can shut
If God could say this about your life, how much more you. It’s a phrase I love to confess because not only does it empower me, it reminds me of how shielded I am in God’s abundant love. That not only is He protecting me, He has already set open doors ahead of me, He has also promised me that no man can shut it. All I really have to do is walk through. Again, when you know in whom you are, you walk different, your gait is different because the powers in charge have already deemed you a success even before you were born.
These three affirmations may seem like just words but be sure to internalise them. Don’t just say them in the morning when you’re feeling particularly motivated and no obstacles have come your way just yet. Say it in the midst of adversity, in the midst of chaos, in the atmosphere of uncertainty. Make them your watch word and watch your life truly bear fruit.
